The 2010 AFL-CIO Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Observance will be held January 14–18 in Greensboro, North Carolina. This year’s Observance comes at a significant time in history, 2010 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Greensboro Sit-Ins to end the racial segregation of lunch counters and other public facilities. The Greensboro Sit-Ins launched a movement that spread across the Southern United States. This year will be a great year to celebrate the life and work of Dr. King and the anniversary of this great civil rights milestone.
